Bowers 3 Point (pint) micrometer
« on: October 18, 2014, 05:24:17 PM »
Hi All,
A few weeks ago I bought some Bowers internal micrometers on Ebay
I have several vintage engine and gearbox repairs in hand and am hoping that the internal mics will speed up
the proceedings
I think I did fairly well on the deals and am particularly pleased with the 6 to 16mm set with digital display
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/271614301987?_trksid=p2060778.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

However this one should have two sets of anvils and one set is missing

( no fault of the seller)
I emailed Bowers in UK and asked if replacement anvils were available ?,  unfortunately they are not as this type has been superseeded a long time ago  :bang:

So here I am begging cap in hand asking if anyone has or knows where I might obtain a set of 25 -31mm anvils for a Bowers E.G, series mic

Regards
John

HI All
Just noticed the topic heading  :palm: where I was looking for 3 pint micrometer parts  ???
Whereas it should be 3 point ????
Anyway I posted an ad on the home workshop site, as a result of this I have been offered two out of the three
anvils
One more will get mine sorted so please go and look if you think that you may have one hidden away somewhere ?
Regards
John

I've fixed up the top heading for you. Hope that you can find the 3rd point.  :D

Cheers

I thought a 3 pint micrometer was going to the bar to haggle out the price.  :D
