Ajax AJ8 mill
« on: September 15, 2015, 12:37:02 PM »
Some time back
I bought an AJ 8 horizontal milling machine....,
So after some time has passed, Ive decided to sort it....
I bought a machine stand for it from the bay.....More recently, Ive managed to acquire some square steel tube to act as supports for the mill.
Added to all of this it will be powered by a 1/3 hp 3 ph motor and vfd.
New motor mount plate added and Ive cobble a means of tensioning the belt....ala car alternater style...works well...

Today I machine a new spindle nut and attempted to cut an external thread befor threading the nut...

Ill try and get sone fotos up of what progress has been made shortly....

But so far all is going well....
