multiprinter
« on: Today at 04:56:10 PM »
I decided it was time I got into this 3d printing lark but I also want a laser marker for another project I have in mind so I have decided to try and make a machine that can hopefully fulfill both of those and MAYBE even be capable of mounting a high speed router spindle too.
For the project I have in mind for the laser will require long planks fit on the machine so I took to sketchup to give me an idea of what i need.
Turns out this life c**p is just one big distraction from death but a good one. For the love of god dont give yourself time to think.

So I aquired a cnc shield kit, some nema 17 motors and some 12mm linear bearings and made a pattern to cast the block for the Y and Z axis.
Powered up my furnace and made the casting which shrunk a little in one spot but I decided I could get away with it.
So I am currently up to the stage where I have the bearings fitted (temporarily) and it all seems to be going well.
