Amateur Telescope Making by Scientific American

I have a telescope and occasionally set it up but that is as far as it goes. I suspect for the amateur enthusiast this 2 volume set is the bible on making your own. It covers the subject extensively with large sections on making your own lens grinding machines, building your own high quality mounts and even building your own small home observatory. The information overlaps into other interests, for example a large section will take you through the patternmaking, molding, casting, machining and fitting out of a Springfield mount.

If your into telescope making you will love this. Published in 1972 should be lots of copies available on the used market.

Cheers
