My bit of the cellar
« on: December 10, 2016, 02:16:07 PM »
My workshop is in a small section of a shared cellar in our Swiss apartment block. I recently finished rearranging it so here are a couple of pictures. I have a Hobbymat lathe with milling attachment, a largish bench drill, a small Proxxon TB220 drill modified for milling and a bench grinder.
Best regards

It has to be, treading swarf on the floors or dirty door handles are simply not accepted here :-(

Very nice work space, my shed used to be that clean. Once upon a time...
Some pics of your engines if that is what they are hiding on the shelf

Well thought out storage etc. is the secret to working in a compact space.

Roger,

Very nice.

You put me to shame. I've acres of space in my cellar workshop and it's still a tip. I wouldn't dare post pictures of mine.

I'm always getting in trouble for bringing swarf into the house.  :(

The nice thing is I have access from the house as well as from outside.

I wonder if it is some kind of character flaw that allows us Brits (and it seems to be mostly Brits, with a few American exceptions) to mog along knee deep in muck and discarded bits of machinery.

I can't even keep my desk clear for more than a few days.

Thank you Roger, very nice. I must try to find some plans  :coffee: of an easy to build engine, i must start soon before the eyes get any worse.
I would love to be able to do a multi cylinder motor but i do not think i have the ability to make the crank and cam shafts..

So this means you don't have a cellar storage space. Now where do you store all your collected stuff that is saved for future use? You know all those things that "I can't throw that away! It may come in handy some day" :D
Don't turn it on, take it apart!

That stuff goes in the attic. This gives a form of natural selection, if I can't or don't want to carry it up the ladder out it goes ;-)
