Hello from Alberta canada
« on: January 19, 2017, 02:21:31 PM »
Hello I just signed up, my name is Michael Mott I'm retired after a career in Architectural Model making, General Model Making, Exhibit Design. I live by a lake and sail. I have a small workshop to keep me occupied playing with my old Myford lathe that I purchased brand new in 1970, it is serial number K101103.
I enjoy building an assortment of projects which include live steam, tools and ships and boats.
I built a 20 foot yawl which I sail in the summer, the lake is frozen to 30 inches deep in the winter, which gives plenty of time to play in the shop in the winter.

Thanks for the welcome Biggles

Will_D yes it is the case, since I do not have a mandrel handle (on my list) I use the large wheel on the countershaft to do threading by hand.

Welcome to the collective.
What more can a man want? Messing about in the boat all summer then in the shed all winter.  :coffee:
S'pose you could go ice skating just to cool off if it gets too hot in the shed.

 Nice boat too.
