Power feed mod for the lathe
« on: April 09, 2017, 10:37:33 PM »
A project I have been meaning to do. Add a variable speed to my lathe. This will make it possible to adjust feed rate without stopping to change gears and being able to fine tune your feed to what you re turning.

My FireFox does not show them either, but they are in YouTube. Something to do with old Flashsomethingbuggy.

it does not show embeded, but link should work, starting from here:

OK they are showing for me under Win7 / Google Chrome, and also showing on an iPad running Safari.

But they are NOT showing for me under Internet Explorer 11 under Win 7 - strange

What operating system and browser are you using Dave ?

Doc sorry if you address it in your video's as once again I have been watching them with sound off due to her indoors watching masterchef but did you think of a center off switch on your direction switch?

Ok here is another vid on  my lathe power feed mod.  There will be a (I hope) short pause in the mod. I had promised to do a mod to a trailer for my sister-in-law for her motorcycle. I need to lengthen it and add a wheel chock (plan on building one for her like this one Wheel chock. Anyway it will be a bit before I get back t the lathe power feed.

Ok finally got back t the power feed md for the lathe. I changed the motor set up from a gear reduction to a direct drive motor.

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_62n3z7qeOo" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_62n3z7qeOo</a>

I decided to move the switch to the control box being the power bx will be mounted t the back of the pegboard. So I can reset it at the control box.
