Best adhesive to stick a magnet to a shaft - tacho project

Hi
Still gathering information for my tacho project and I`m wondering what is the best adhesive to stick the magnet (trigger) to a shaft?  The shaft will be in the headstock of my lathe so I wouldn`t want the magnet to come adrift when the lathe is turning I was considering 2 part epoxy, bearing retainer, chemical metal any other suggestions welcome.  I was also going to cover the magnet with a strong (gorilla tape) duck type tape wrapped around the shaft and back onto its self as a belt and braces approach.
Thanks for reading

Bill Smith IC-2000 might be a good choice

I just popped mine on the shaft letting physics do the holding, I've not had a problem and have run it above 2000rpm.

It depends on the diameter of the shaft. At a guess it's it's around 2-1/4" on my Boxford.

3M VHB tape is what I would use. You can always apply a broad elastic band on top as belt and braces. A condom with the end cut off applied over the shaft and magnet (no pun intended) several times would do the job.
