Insert tooling screws
« on: October 31, 2017, 07:12:56 AM »
Does anyone know of an alternative source for screws suitable for holding inserts into Glanze tooling?

e.g. see the bottom of this page: https://www.glanze.co.uk/acatalog/Replacement_Inserts___Spares.html

£2 each (and no multipacks available at a reasonable price), well, Dick Turpin would have been proud... I've lost about 1/2 dozen of these over the years, would like to buy a bag of about 20, but not for £48!
Cheers!

Good spot, thanks!

Out of stock of the M2.5, unfortunately  :(

I did find a load on AliExpress - $8.77 (delivered) for a bag of 100; I figured it was worth the risk, shame about the 20-40 days postage.... hopefully they won't take that long. I'll have a few spares left over from that batch, if they fit, which I'll be happy to pass on in smaller numbers if anyone needs spares.
Cheers!

Much to my surprise, my bag of Chinesium screws arrived yesterday  so this morning I popped down the shed to see if they worked. And they do!

Now all I have to do is locate the toolholders in my bomb site of a workshop, er, and make a stack of QCTP holders for them, and I'm good to go

Anyway... now I have 100 of the little blighters... hopefully I'll never need that many, so if anyone needs a few to replenish their stock & doesn't fancy paying £2 each.... I'm happy to fire a few your way for the cost of postage. Just drop me a PM. I do intend to keep hold of some myself, so don't go asking for 50.... first come, first served... Oh, yeah, and it's worth asking before I lose them...

If you'd rather have your own bag of 100 for less than $9, here's the link.
Cheers!

If you wait a few days, there'll be a 25% discount on them! I think they were on offer when I bought them, as they're slightly more expensive at the moment. Still MILES cheaper than any of the alternatives though!
Cheers!
