Hello from Italy
« on: September 10, 2009, 05:54:13 AM »
hello everybody
like many others here, I found this group via HMEM, where I'm registered with the same name (I'm the undeserved winner of the august 'project of the month')
I live in italy and metalworking / models making is an hobby for me, as my job is absolutely different (librarian)
I was working on a 'scuderi engine' in the last weeks, when I made several errors for distraction, so I stopped the built and took a few time to think about my errors and to relax
so I have the time to browse this great forum: I read almost every thread, with great interest!
I see that there is 'teacher' here, Bogstandards: all his posts are worth the effort to read them carefully (for me, being not an english language man)
and many others too are great craftsmen
well, that's all
thank you and best regards

Hi Ariz...welcome to the mad house, will be heading off to Italy myself soon, hoping the weather is better than here...where in Italy would the main bulk of model makers be located, are there many clubs and are you in one, what is it like to locate tooling and materials.
All the best for now,
                            John.

Welcome aboard the cube Ariz  :borg:

I'll just have to search your work out on HMEN, giving things a rest whilst you think things though is good, thats whats nice about this game you work to your own speed, for your own enjoyment.

When you get settled in a few pics of your projects would be nice, you never know you might infect a few of us with  :proj:

Have fun

thank you all
sure, I'll post some pics when I'll be ready, not immediately because I have some problems

John, the weather is good now in italy, but it will change in the autumn, as usual
and no, there aren't many model makers in italy, so no clubs, forums, groups

also to locate materials is very difficult in italy, while tooling are enough easy to find: you would search for 'forniture industriali', great shops that supply tools to the factories
but they are very expensive

thank you again
