I thought mine was going to be a quickie job, it took me nearly a year, and a lot of heartache, saying goodbye to old friends that I thought I would use one day, but never did.

But once it is done, you will feel absolutely great.

Good luck, and remember, all those vertical worksurfaces have a use as well.

i've just come out of the shed!!! nearly ten hours!!!!!!!!!!

Mrs jimmyocharlie kept me going with coffee and roll-ups

the day in numbers   Hours spent in the shed (only one toilet break)  = 10
                            Cups of coffee  = 7
                            Roll-ups  = 20
Machines moved  = 3 big uns (mill, lathe, bandsaw)
5 small uns (2 grinders, 2 polishers, belt sander)
Cans of Guinness now being drunk  = 2

just got a bit of tidying to do and some guarding to put around lathe/mill and some where to put the grinders and polishers (new bench?) and i'll take some pics
if i'd thought it through, i'd have never tried it

Well done!!
I need to move my worshop out of the workshop and into the main basement!
The stupid ceiling in the workshop is about 5 1/2 feet and i am 6 foot 3...
Tired of being bent over all the time

Off to a woodworking show to see what is going on!!

i know what you mean, i'm 6'6" and built my workshop with a 7' 6" ceiling.

anyone that comes round comments about the height of everything, it fits so i'm happy :)
