Here is the Michigan boiler law and the sections relating to the hobby boilers and antique boilers which can be accessed thru the states web site. Most if not all states, will have some form of code for pressure vessels.

If they don't have a written code they probably have adopted the national boiler code or some parts of it. For more info check out the archives on this site as this topic runs almost constantly.

You may also want to check locally as some cities and counties have different codes or special additions.
You can check with your states/provinces/ regions local government web site of phone them under licensing
