Center Square stock in 4 jaw chuck in lathe
« on: October 29, 2011, 11:25:47 PM »
How to center a square or rectangle in lathe using a dial indicator in the tail stock.
It isn't necessary to get indicator set on exact center only close if you have it off center the only thing it will effect is when you rock your stock back and forth the low spot will be off in the direction the indicator is off center it does not matter it will still put your stock on center if you follow the steps in video. I should make a better video and kill the light above so you can actually see the indicator.

Hi George.
Didn't realise straight away, you were using a finger clock!  :palm:

That's a simpler set up, than using a mag mount.
