While I have been lurking around this forum  for a few months I thought I had better announce myself.  I am a 70 year old ex electrician, ex carburettor parts importer and manufacturer.  Sold my business about 15 years ago because of  ill health and the decline in carburettor use on new cars.  In April I decided to make a replica of a steam roller  I had as a young boy. This was to be a present to my only grandson.  Armed with a fading memory and a few pictured I set up my workshop with a X2 mill and C3 lathe .  Fortunately I had  kept all my measuring equipment and hand tools .  Scaled the photos as best I could and kindly given some dimensions and drawing by Tony Muir in Perth WA. who has an original Renown Roller.
Well the project has now been completed  after remaking many parts, it is a runner.  I am just staring the cleaning and painting process and will post the results when completed.
