Didn't I see a build log somewhere here for that rover?

Thanks for sharing the link.  I would love to know how many hundreds of thousands of dollars (of taxpayers' money) were spent on making the pretty animation!

Looks expensive and complicated. Thanks for sharing.

A Gismo ??? If it has a flywheel or spins and is made with small parts. I'll take one! If it makes noise, moves, or requires frequent oiling and dusting it's a better deal yet. It's especially right if its shiny and bright; but if it's dirty and dull it wont mater at all...

I would feel a whole lot more confident if Joe Cassidy was on the team that did the design/development of the landing system.  This is another wonderment from the kids at JPL who multiplied g's times kg (forgetting to convert to m/sē) to come up with Newtons a few years back.  On the other hand, my hypergolic fuel pump seems to be working well...

Lets hope it doesn't go like a Beagle...

I was not allowed to keep any of the pictures or video of the development work.  There was a really neat video of the first plume test which was done a bit after midnight in the field where the company I was doing work for performed such tests.  It was a 15 foot long bright white plume coming out of a 2.5 inch diameter thrust motor...

That's a long retro 'burn'  ( I really hope someone a has programmed a few bogus '1202' errors just to keep the bowels loose at mission control )

Fingers-crossed that it all goes well - if it's only half as successful as Spirit and Opportunity it'll still be a fantastic achievement  :)
