My GCSE Technology Project - Oscillating Engine
« on: February 02, 2009, 04:41:27 PM »
Hello all,

I thought I'd show people the few bits and pieces I've made:

This was my first real project, when I was 15 I designed and made this oscillating engine for my GCSE technology project. I'd made a few oscillators off the cuff before this, but this was my first real project where I'd designed it properly (or so I thought!) It ran really well though due to having quite a large bore and stroke (1/2" x 1") and a heavy flywheel. Stupidly, I decided to sell this on ebay a few years ago, I was going through a phase of getting rid of junk! I think it's because when I got it out of the box 10 years later, it wasn't as good as I remembered! I thoguht it was the bees knees when I'd first made it! I wish I'd kept it for sentimental value now but never mind!
