Hi there, new to the boards
« on: February 08, 2009, 05:45:10 AM »
I created an account here about 2 months ago after watching one of Divided Head's youtube videos of his steam engine, but I got distracted with all sorts of stuff and havn't posted much and gotten my feet wet.

I'm a Jr. in college, majoring in industrial engineering, and im into just about anything you'd find in a garage or shop... woodworking, motorcycles, power tools in general, welding, etc.

I recently got permission from the university to use the student machine shop at my leisure... access to a lathe, milling machine, mig, tig, plasma cutter, oxy/acet, drill press, grinders, band saw, etc, 24 hrs a day 7 days a week.  The work I do in there doesn't have to be school related, so I'm exploring different project options.

The thing I've been wanting to do for a while now, as I referenced above, is a model steam engine, so you may see my posts with questions in the other forums.  Of course, any input is much appreciated  :dremel:

Looking forward to utilizing the knowledge bank that you guys offer here  :smart:

-Jon

Hi Jon,

Nice to have acess to so many tools. Hope to see a running engine some time. As has been said,  :worthless:, so if you do finally get around to building that first engine start a thread in the projects section so we can see what your doing.

Again welcome and you have been assimilated to the collective.  :borg: :borg:
