I use MasterCAM at work, and though I've come to be familiar with it, it does have some quirks.  Not to mention it's in serious need of some rewriting of core code to bring it into the 20th century.

That said, it has done almost everything I've asked of it.  I sometimes tweak the generated code but as long as your post processor is suited to your machine, it comes out looking pretty good.

There's an add-in for SolidWORKS but I've never tried it.

It sounds like you've found a solution that works for you though, so that's great to hear.  Maybe you can find an older version of this for cheap if you find that your current solution fails you at some future point.

I have used Featurecam and like it a lot..now delcam has taken over it's really improved. It will do 2 1/2 D to full 5 axis depending on the level purchased. They also have tombstone machining for horizontals which isn't mentioned much on the Featurcam web sight but has been available for since about 1995.
