Well I finally made it out to the shop yesterday and did a little work on the carbs. I didn't feel up to it but I forced myself to get out there.
Today I hope to get some time in this afternoon I do have to go move some snow but not a whole lot didn't get nearly what they were predicting. I really don't mind moving snow actually find it fun. I put in the vid my fav winter toy and you can see why I don't mind it.
Anyway carbs are about done just the needles and the linkage left to do.

Haven't gotten out to the shop much did do a little lathe work but not a whole lot I'll get some time out there on Saturday. I did do a short little video power tapping on the lathe with a 4-40 tap at 1400 rpm.

George - although its quiet in here, just to say thanks for keeping posting; this thread is heading for six thousand views!  I think most MadModders are, like me, impressed (and I for one can't offer any meaningful comment other than wow!); enjoying you taking us along for the ride (and looking forward to hearing the engine!) so thanks again for recording/editing/posting.

Haven't been out in the shop for awhile but made it out there today for a little bit. I primed and painted the block and oil pan in a little cardboard paint booth I threw together.

Ok worked a little on the cam I cut off the indicator dia on the end and then I pressed on the bevel gear and got the bearing installed. So it's ready to be put in place and set when I get things put together that far.

I have a few end mills to sharpen before the weather gets nice and I head outside. Plus I want to make a few carbide boring bars. I mat set the camera up and show the whole process and my set up for sharpening. I'm going to attempt some small end mills.

Hmmmmm  seems like the gremlin has visited again. I was going to set up the cam and the little mounting posts have come up missing for both engines.   :bang: So I need to make them again I have searched with no luck again!

Well went out and did a little in the shop this morning and turned up the cam idle gear pegs. I was messing around with mounting camera in different places.

Well she was cool outside this morning again plus wind was blowing felt pretty cold out so I spent some time and put gears in place. I need to go and find Steve's video on setting the cam up and get a degree wheel made up and get it set.
Plus I want get some dull end mills sharpened (I may video that from start to finish).

Anyway got the gears in place and they seem to work fairly smooth so once I get the cam set then I'll need to go back and cut out some gaskets.

It got pretty nice out side this afternoon but got windy and cool late in the afternoon and windy so I went back out in the shop and cleaned a few things up and printed out a degree wheel and now I'll glue it to a piece of plexi glass and band saw it out plus make a hub that I can mount it to the crank. (or I could run down town and but a round compass) na that wouldn't be as much fun as making your own. Hahaha

I did a little on the engine build today I had been putting off the dampener pulley because I didn't have any 1.0 dia aluminum stock I do have quite a bit of 1.625 so I finally decided to go ahead and turn a chunk of it down. So I got them done yesterday now I'll attempt setting the cam if I make it out there today.

Well I have gotten the cam gear clocked and I may try my gasket cutting plan. I was going to set up and sharpen some end mills today but weather got nice and I worked outside this afternoon.

Haven't done to much on the build the last few days. I did get some end mills sharpened. Messed around with the rockers getting ready to assemble them. I have the ones the plan called out but I changed them a bit  ;).

Was going to mount rocker system (rails and rockers) and realized I didn't drill the mounting holes yet for them. SO dug out the fixture and created a program to drill them. I just need to find time to get out in the shop and do it. Anyway once I get that done I can get them mounted and size up the push rods. I keep meaning to get started on the gaskets but still haven't. Anyway very windy here today so I may make it out this evening for awhile.

Here is a video from yesterday. Today didn't make it to the shop. I will get the rockers mounted and get started on gaskets I hope next weekend. I did drill all 4 heads I figured why not do them all as it doesn't effect anything if I go with the original rockers. I did set down and do some deburing  and set up to cut down the area for the lock nut. Anyway I am getting closer every time I spend time in the shop so thas a good thing (I think) .
