Hi all,

For some time I wanted to make some attachments to fit on the back end of the lathe spindle.  As there are various and there are no threads left on the end of my spindle, a different idea was needed.

After looking at what others have done I came up with the idea to make a permanently installed extension/spider and some accessories to fit onto it.

I was concentrating on the making of the parts so much I forgot to take build photos, so these are of the finished parts.

I have used the indexer, spider and hand crank a few times and can not think how I worked without them in the past.

Nice work, Abraham . I too like the detent. Is there enough travel on it to accommodate different sizes of gear? I think your pic shows 50T, which is OK for 2, 5, 10, 25 and 50 divisions, and a 48T would get you 3, 4, 6, 8, 12, 16, 24 and 48 in addition. Looking at the lower numbers, I don't suppose you'd need 7, 9, 11, 13, 14 or 15 very often.

as the outer housing off the detent can slide in the support it can be adjusted for different gears.  It was tested from the smallest to the largest (80) change gears off the lathe.

OK, yes, thank you. Another plan to build.
This one I will have to do.

Question for you, on some of the pics it looks like you have a left handed lathe. The pic showing the indexer in position.
There are control levers to the left of that and I can see the chuck, but do you have control levers on the back of your lathe?
Zooming in, the word Stop does not seem to be in mirror image so you have me puzzled.

No, it is not a left hand, the lever you see is the low /high speed gear lever, at the back of the headstock.  The lathe is a highly modified 7x1214 Real bull clone.
