Teensie weensie lathe tools!
« on: March 04, 2009, 07:44:57 PM »
The Artful Bodger ordered a set of lathe tools from another town.

I am sure I ordered 5/8"  ones but 3/8" inksy-dinksy ones arrived.

Was it my fault or theirs,  who would now?

Now having looked at them I am thinking that having a rather small set might be quite handy as already I am finding instances where my bigger lathe tools limit my work.

I think I will treat myself and keep them, then buy another set in the not too distant future. ::)

As the Actress said to the Bishop "you can't have to many tools"

John,

You are doing the right thing.

I grind up 6mm toolstock and they look absolutely lost in the 16mm toolholders. But when you require a 1mm parting/grooving tool, it is the only way to go.

Again, as the actress said to the bishop, tiny things require tiny tools.
