Hello from E. TN
« on: May 30, 2014, 01:30:39 PM »
Hey folks, not only am I new to the forums here....I am VERY new to machining.  As a matter of fact I have no previous machining experience and only recently (2 weeks ago) purchased a Harbor Freight 7x10 mini lathe. So, I will be here often, looking for pointers, tips and ideas.  Thanks for having me!!

Welcome to the forum, fellow Tennesseean! Lots of helpful folks here!
If you can stand the drive, come on over and see my shop! I've had the 7x10's bigger cousin (7x14) for several years and made lots of mods and tools for and with it. I also have it's distant cousin the X2 mill.

Chuck, I would  love to take you up on that and I go to Harbor Freight in Johnson City quite often....I'm like a kid in a candy shop in there lol.  Not real sure how much farther you are away from there...but I'm thinking it isn't real far.

Ha...thanks AussieJim and I'll take the redneck jab as a compliment ;).  I actually prefer being referred to as a Appalachian American!!! Glad to be a part of the community, I can already tell this forum is pretty active.
