I don't know much about ships but that looks impressive  what scale is it?

Don't know much about ships either, but that looks quite massive. Due to using matte paint?

What's moving it? Is it steam or maybe an IC?

Very nice, thanks.  The deck guns alone are a whole project by themselves.

I'd say it's electric powered.

Hi everyone,
Well its been fat too long on the sidelines.  Following an illness and a major op I have managed to pretty much complete the Envoy,  a few little bits to finish off.

Now that she's done I can start my new interest in model engineering, though I may combine boats and steam.  Must get that lathe reconditioned.
This boat however is very much electric.

and since a common theam is  :worthless: here are a few.

That is looking rather marvelous Ian. Very well made indeed.

I just wish I could handle all the small bits still, and I would be running along with you.

I tended to shy away from grey funnels and did more filthy scale work.

Yes a really great looking WWII steam tug, this thread kept slipping by. Till paging through the one hard cover model ship book and it has a photo of the Envoy that the author built. Your color photo's are much nicer than B&W ones of the book.

Very nice work PeeWee.  Good to hear you are doing better.  Are you on any tug forums?  I have R/C tugs, stern wheeler, push boats and fishing boats.  Love to build and run boats (no fast boats).  What functions do you have in it and which motor?  Like your railings also.   Ray

Thank you PT and Ray, I am not a member of a Tug specific forum.  Though I am a member of Paddleducks and modelboatmayhem.  The tug is a basic 2 channel with a sound unit and smoke generator.

I seem to be migrating to steam powered paddle boats and marine engines, I have acquired a great steam paddle engine from Bogstandard that was on ebay.  The goal is to end up making my own engines.
