Came across this amazing video of a chap who has set himself up to make large Nixie Tubes. Highly skilled glass working.

Brilliant,

$145 each - not bad when you consider how much time they take and the investment in equipment.

I had a box full of smaller ones somewhere!

Certainly very interesting.

I have six of the small standard ones in the RACAL 836 Frequency Counter on the shelf across the room from me.  Still work.

I made a clock and a frequency counter using the smaller ones back in the 1970's using 74141 driver i/c's

I watched this the other day and it's a great insight into what small scale manufacturing is.  No robots or offshore sweatshops.  Those SLS printed jigs and fixtures are pure porn...
