Title: My New Ball Turner Won't Turn Balls
Post by: snub on April 07, 2017, 06:55:06 PM: They look like an onion, or the roof of the Taj Mahal. I built this after looking at the one that Repton sells. Perhaps there is a design flaw?

That's how you machine aeroplane propeller spinners.

Post by: snub on April 08, 2017, 08:56:44 PM: Hmmmmm...the center height appears to be spot on. I'm wondering if maybe the cutting tip is not in the same plane as the pivot, if that would cause this. I will fiddle with it some more.

Post by: Pete. on April 09, 2017, 02:11:27 AM: It's simple, the radius you set your tool to swing at has to be the radius of the bar you're cutting. You're tool swing radius is greater.
