Indoor Letter Box
« on: August 17, 2014, 10:04:22 AM »

     Hi Guys

For various reasons I needed  an indoor letter box. I looked at various designs available on the internet, and there were none available that suited my particular requirements. So off up to the garage I went to squirrel through my sheet metal  store and found some white steel sheet, which looked as though it had come from some sort of domestic appliance.
I took some measurements of my front door, then marked them out on the sheet steel.  The guillotine is kept in the garage among the timber and metal store and had got pushed under a bench then covered in sheet metal, two bikes and a lawn
mower, so I was worn out before I started the job.
The parts were eventually cut out and folded in the six inch vice, using two pieces of steel angle to give me nice clean lines. The parts were assembled using pop rivets, and a piano type hinge fitted.         Cheers  David
