OK Confess - Who Did It ?
« on: September 17, 2014, 03:28:47 PM »
Several weeks ago - it may even be a couple of months, I rashly took my other half out to lunch on a Tuesday. When we returned there was a Carte D'Or Icecream pot in the porch with half a dozen change gears in it. Nice condition, no note or other indication of ownership.

Now a very limited number of people bring me things 'that may be useful'. A few more people bring me things 'that perhaps I can mend or modify'. So these gears have sat on the medieval trunk in our hall awaiting a claim of ownership all that time. And I've been loath to just appropriate them. Today having 'put the word out' and got no responses, and being fed up seeing them there I took them over to the workshop to put them in my gear stash - turns out that they are exactly right for the feed select gears for my Mikron gear hobber - correct pitch (1 mod), correct bore (14 mm) and even the correct width.

So who ever you are thank you, but now I've assumed ownership

Bollocks, that's where they went.
Called in for a coffee a couple of weeks ago, put this ice cream pot down whist I rang the bell, no answer so had a wander round see if you were in the pig sty and then wandered off to annoy someone else.

Been looking for this pot for 2 weeks, even emptied the Donald and cleaned it in the hopes it had fell down behind the seats but no suck luck.

Bonus point though is now all the crap has been shovelled it it goes 8 mph faster and does another 3 to the gallon.

Long story but this starts this year in Austria when we were being watched by a cardboard Austrian one
Several years earlier there had been one. It disappeared or as we say was no nicked. Actually it ended up on an English nick!          It was a lady copper what did it.

I have a suspicions Fergus's ..... may relate to the cardboard-cutout policemen thread?
