Some nice looking aircraft there.

Tell us more about it. I have always wanted to go (that and oshkosk) and would like to hear your experience.

Thanks!
Eric

You have some great interesting pictures posted, but what are they, I am sure members would like to know.

Well basically its a feast of a aviation rqcing around a set of pylons over a 5 day period.
There are other events that take place in between the races...
Here's RARA's statement.....
"The Reno Air Racing Association’s mission is to perpetuate the most unique air racing event and aviation experience in the world by combining the world’s fastest motor sport with spectacular military and civilian air entertainment.

The Reno Air Racing Association Board of Directors, a small full-time staff and hundreds of volunteers work together to preserve this unique event. Staff members handle the thousands of details needed year-after-year, planning for the next event before the current one is completed. Approximately 2,500 volunteers serve in capacities ranging from course safety and security to event sequencing and air traffic control to race timing and scoring."

The event takes place every September and has done so since 1963, so that's 51 years of racing....During which time it has evolved to being what it is today....
I had tickets for every day's racing and an inclusive ticket for the pit area giving me full access to crews and aircraft.....meeting and chatting to some of the top pilots in pylon racing was great an experience never to be missed...

Check out the website, you know you want to go next year....
