Steam Toy Lincs.
« on: April 11, 2009, 03:14:10 AM »

On Saturday 25th April, members of the Mamod Steam Toy forum,

http://modelsteam.myfreeforum.org/

are holding their first gathering, at the Museum of Lincolnshire Life, Lincoln....

It is to be called, "Steam Toy Lincs".

http://www.lincolnshire.gov.uk/eventDetails.asp?eventcode=46974

Approx 20 members, with some 500 toys available between them, are expected to display engines, locos, traction engines, cars, steam rollers, boats....... Anything steam powered!

A bit like this......

(Who`s the old bloke, bottom left corner)?

Many others, like me, will drop in for a few hours to meet other members, steam, chat & generally enjoy a get together with like minded enthusiasts.

............ALL OTHER INTERESTED PERSONS ARE INVITED TO DROP IN.........

It`s a very interesting museum in it`s own right.

Free admission too!

Looking forward to meeting any Madmodders who are interested.

Hi Stew!

What a crackin` day!

I did not go to be an exhibitor..... I hoped to share the corner of someone`s table, with the triple.

A table appeared, then a chair in a corner, for the old man......

I was an exhibitor:bugeye:

The triple ran faultlessly for some 4hrs +.
The single spent most of the day plastic piston out, under discussion.

I spent all day talking to forum members & very interested members of the public. Mostly about 3 cylinders & plastic pistons.......

Around 500 people came through the doors!

I asked Sandy about the pie shop, but he hadn`t found it, at that time.
He, and several "weekenders" had found a good pub just across the road......

The weekend`s individual write ups, (with STL in the titles), can be found on here.....

David

Thanks for posting pics and link to Mamod forum:- I'll have a read through that at lesure.

It certainly looked a very good show, I'm sorry that I missed it, I had no idea there was such a wide range of models, I noticed a Burnac there, I may have said already that I have a couple of them.

Sandy seemes to have a good collection of models as well.

Cheers have fun

Nice one David,

I always find you don't have time to even get around the show yourself when you display models.

I bet you are now flavour of the month with your 'plastic' pistons, and you will be the man to search out for all the info.

Notoriety at last.

John

Looks like you had a fun day out David  :)

Exhibiting can be very taxing, the voice, yes I know all about that......done some exhibiting myself at some very large shows, it's hard work but fun.... :ddb:

Yep, Dave is now known as the "plastic piston man"...  :ddb: :ddb: :ddb:

Good show by the look of it
