Greetings to you all. I am a mechanic by trade. My interests and hobbies are old cars ,and old motorcycles, and working with metal.I am a rookie,(wannabe machinist) I enjoy learning everything I can about running a lathe and a mill.I`ve got an older Taiwanese lathe and a bridgeport clone mill.Working with metal is the coolest hobby. After I get my digital camera figured out ,I hope to send you a few pics of my shop.
Cheers, Larry

Hey Larry!

Welcome to the collective!  :borg: Old metal is more than welcome here be it cars, motorcycles or machine tools. I am sure we all have plenty to share with you on your journey.

BTW... what is your location? In your profile you can put a flag for the country you are from.

Still do the odd thing when I have to!

Looking forward to the pic's  :worthless:  Ok, you have already excused your self from that .... But I wanted to use the banner  :ddb:  :D

I figured the name OK Larry..   welcome, you will find some nice folks here,  you will see some pretty neat efforts by the regulars too..

I am just a beginner, almost retiree, with a few tools and a bit of machinery, not much, but plenty to keep me busy in the future.

Thanks for the warm welcome. You will have to excuse my lack of computer skills,I`ve been looking for the flag but can`t locate it ? Anyhow,I live in the Rocky Mountains in southern B.C. Canada, just about an hour north of the Idaho ,and B.C. border.A town called Cranbrook.I like all kinds of bikes, but I got hooked on Harleys, especially Flatheads,Knuckleheads,Pans and shovelheads. When I was a kid,I was hooked on Triumphs and B.S.A. bikes.I like all kinds of old cars. Oct.2006,I dragged home a 1950 Ford Tudor sedan. It was pretty rough, and needed a new floor. I built a bead roller and bought a sheet of metal and made my first floor.I got the car on the road Aug.2007,I`m trying to make it into a bit of a hotrod. It still needs lots of work, but I`ll have it on the road again in a couple days, and it sure is fun to drive .I`ll look forward in trying to post some pics in the not too distant future. Thanks.
Larry

Still drilling holes... Sometimes, in the right place!

Still modifying bits of metal... Occasionally, making an improvement!
