SX3 Speeds & Feeds
« on: January 12, 2015, 04:35:28 AM »
I have had my SX3 milling machine for a while now but have never been sure on what speeds i should be using. I have just been cutting at what i feel is best (around 1150 rpm) but have noticed that i blunt my endmills/slot drills very very quickly. I have read many posts on the internet about speeds but they all seem to relate to full size/cnc machines and are way way above speeds that my machine can manage.

I usually use 6mm & 8mm endimlls, mainly cut aluminium and now and again brass and steel.

What sort of speeds do other X3/SX3 users find work best? Is there any charts here that have been posted as a guide for speeds/feeds for small bench top machines?
