When "Free hand" becomes.. cheating.  :poke:
Machinery: Optimum D320x920, Optimum BF20L, Aciera F3. -- I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work. http://www.roughedge.se/blogg/

Cheers Lads

A bit more done today     :)  , worked on the air control valve spindle , this was turned and screw cut , then slapped onto the mill like so .

Two flats mill on the screwed section .

Then a section of spindle was milled away for the gate /butterfly .

And then a couple of hole were poked in .

Next a 1 mill thick disc was turned , this needs two slots milled . I used an old bearing race to centre the chuck with the aid of my Zero set indicator (Wilson copy) , just love that tool . :dremel:

Then the disc mounted and milled .

Nearly there .

Just seen the reference to David Vizard, that's a name from the past. I think his how to modify your Mini book is still the most thumbed and dilapidated book I have on the shelf.

I've had a couple of Thiels and a polish copy that was nice - all sold on. The two mills I have now and have done for a few years are an Ajax and a Shizuoka CNC. I got tired of having to buy two lots of tooling for both mills, so when the nearly new and well tooled Ajax came about, I decided to take the plunge.

A wee bit more progress this morning , thought I would post now as I need to stop for a curry . :)

Made up a couple of  shouldered washers , cant be doing with way ward springs LOL.

The slot required a tad of hand fitting at the bench .  :dremel:

And it all goes together like so .

Thats the valve just about done , I have left the other end long and un machined as I am still undecided how I will be controlling the valve.

Next ,welded on the dump flange .

And this is it so far .

Cheers Rob

Well a tad more done , Knocked up the blower mounting bracket this morning  :dremel:

This just clips over the bottom rail of the stand , the reason is two fold it  allows a degree of float  and once the forge is pushed back into the corner motor/fan accesses
will be difficult , this way I can just lift the motor/fan assembly out if needed.

Motor attached .

And in position .

Just need a bit pipe work welded up to join the blower to the control valve .

Cheers Rob
