a £1 coune holder

hi all well just a simpel project i have had lodes of £1 coun holders they hold a total of £10 but they all keep braking so i desided to mack my own in esence i just coped the plastic one for the sises i got sum bronse from work it all redy had a 13 mm hole runing thruw it so i just bord it out to the sise of the plastick one and to the same depth then turnd dawn the outer od just a bit biger than the origenel one then cut it off drest the top off then ran the lathe tool acros the top to mack the center of the tube then cut and filde one hafe dawn so the coune wood fit in i used the plunger top of the plastick one then mad a bung to go in to the bottom this was a press fit and ther you have it a £1 coune holder beter than the ones you can by pics

Neat, I really like that. Trying to work out how you did the end that retains the coin. Did you bore the £1 size hole to have a flat bottom and mill half off?

Sorry looked at the pictures and didn't read the bit how you made it.
I guess there is a spring to push the coins up too?

yep ther is a spring i set the boring bare to 65mm so once bord out to that depth i just whent to say 73mm in lenth then cut it off then tnurnd the top dawn to leve a 3mm lip then bord the 13mm hole out to leev a 5mm sholder this is wat the coune rest on when the spring pushes the coune up

Better make another and duct tape it to the first, wouldn't want to get caught short in a fire sale fight.

I always save the £2 coins in the old 35mm film  plastic conainers, £30 in each one they soon add up. hope you have a good belt on yer keks bob with that lump of brass full of brass in yer pocket

Nice bling Bob  How does the bottom bit attach that holds the coins in ? ......You will have to make another matching one to keep your coffee sweetners in lad

thanks for the coments mick on the origenel one the bottom is just a plastck cap stuck on the bit that shuves the counes  to the top is a plunger with a spring just amagine a botel top of a botel of beer with a spring under it and the bottom on the one i made is just a press fit
