SIEG X2 and X3 size questions
« on: April 18, 2009, 10:41:33 AM »
Hi guys just a quick question/request to X2 mini mill and X3 small mill owners.

I have 54.5" of bench width left will I be able to fit and use a X2 or X3 ?

I have the measurements from sieg's web site but cannot figure out how far the table will move

I will check my bench space later for the X2 for you.

With that amount of space... you could most definitely fit a X2 there. The bench mine is on is 48" and I am not using all of it... maybe 1/2 to 2/3. Don't know about a X3. I plan to put a X3 in the spot my X2 is... so if it would work for me, should work for you.

Thanks again  Eric

what has me confused is the longitudinal travel

For example the X2 is listed as
length 520mm
width 500mm
hight 760mm
longitudinal travel 220mm

and the X3 as
length 760mm
width 720mm
hight 930mm
longitudinal travel 400mm

Does this mean I have to add the longitudinal travel measurement to both sides of the machines width
or half each side ?

or is it not that simple

Sorry Can't send pics at the moment last week while we were away we were zapped  :zap: in an electrical storm it set all the Alams off in our street so I guess the sub station was hit sending spike it certainly didn't do our router any good, our sevice provider are sending a new one, we should have unpluged it

Work doesn't let me send pics

Any way the total distanced swept by the table is 1.1M:- Ie 55cm left 55cm right.

Hope this helps
