Best if you leave the plastic at home the temptation may be to much to contend with :D :D

Coast Road Retail Park, Norham Road, North Shields. Sadly went past it on Friday. Funeral of a old friend -Reyrolles, Shell, Hebburn Tech guy- on his 85th Birthday! Can't get much worse, can it?

Anyway, dead easy by car from your daughter's. Either Tyne Bridge or Tyne Tunnel.
Metro line- no way!
Cheers

Norman

I've ordered a few things from Axminster, they're pricey but have a good range on some stuff. I guess this'll save waiting on the postage so that's nice.

Hi John ,
Its really easy to find if you go down the Coast road from Newcastle towards the coast its on the right , the exit just after the large chimmny with 'TESCO' wrote down the chimmny, Axminister is right along side the coast road joined onto the back of the Tesco store but after going up the slip road exit and crossing over the road you have just been on its the first right before the traffic lights that leads you down a ramp and into the car park area, Dunelm has a big stor you can not miss that shares the car park.
The store itself is large and has an impressive range of machines as well as all manner of tools and sundries for both metal and wood. They do not carry everything in the catalouge but will get anything they do not stock for the next day pick up so might be worth you checking if you need a particular item. As Simon said , they are not always the cheapest for any given item but you can actually pick up and inspect things with no pressure and they do demonstrate machine tools etc too.
Overall well worth a visit and the staff are very helpful yet not on commission for selling any particular brands so will give honest advice from what I have been told.
Probably good idea to leave the plastic at home as Stuart says lol.
  Cheers Mick.
