Rob,

It'll be interesting to see how much it actually goes for. I've added it to my watched items.

I thought Rob might have a copy!

There's one on Abe Books in the US for $68.50.

I'm surprised no-one has digitised it as it must be long out of copyright.

The author - William Theodore Brandt looks to have been very prolific - a bit like F J Camm in the UK writing on a variety of subjects.

I have a quite a few old "receipts" books. Many of the ingredients are either no longer available or are now known to be very unhealthy.

Hi Tom

The other three in the series are just as good . So what are you brewing up Tom , or are you just a collector ?

  nearly everything covered in the books is unhealthy Phil , it sure can be a challenge to fined the true chemical names (modern) for some things .

Rob, I've got a shelf full of those red books in your picture to the left. There are all sorts, from planing and shaping to munitions.

Hi Mike ,

Aye Pitman's  Workshop Practice dose cover a good assortment of engineering topics, worth the shelf space  , I dont remember munitions being covered , that may have been in something Newnes published .

Wow I'm sitting on a gold mine!! Got tons of 'rare antique calculations and measurements' just sitting here at work.
a competent engineer uses the tools and knowledge available, to get a challenging job done.

Have you nothing better to do Rob? (e.g. getting on with your CNC mill or cupola. (Don't ask about the CNC lathe!))

I've hundreds of similar sheets of paper all over the house. They drive my wife mad and she collects them into neat piles ready for me to mess up again and spread out over the furniture and floor! Eventually I forget what they were for and put them in the paper recycling bin but am I missing a trick? Maybe I should soak them in tea to give them the appearance of having a bit of age and put them up for auction. No - I don't think so. Like I suspect those you found on eBay are - they'd be useless to anyone else but the person who created them.

I'd be surprised if they sell - but I'll have to put a watch on them to see if they do.

A brand-new, unused, unopened and undamaged item in original retail packaging (where packaging is applicable). If the item comes direct from a manufacturer, it may be delivered in non-retail packaging, such as a plain or unprinted box or plastic bag.

Delivery in a plastic bag would perhaps be unnerving.

What about a plain pine box?

Actually, why couldn't she just take a cab?

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Persona-Synthetics-New-Generation-Sally-Synth-/151673408750?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item2350708cee

Rob,

It's a good job I was on holiday with no internet when you posted that one and that the listing has ended or else I may have bought one.

I Googled "Persona Synthetics" and found another listing with 1 bid on it already:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Persona-synthetics-/281692986027?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item419635daab

I won't be bidding!

Cheers.

There's likely a matching sale for DIY bulk toilet paper. By the same seller.

"Perfect for rolling onto cardboard tubes."

Well Rob, the missus saves toilet tubes to grow leeks and celery in in her polytunnel, so there's probably a market, though we produce enough of our own :)
