US Vertical Boiler Traction Engine

I've been researching borax as a flux and came across this fantastic Wikipedia image of a traction engine hauling borax out of Death Valley.

It looks to me as if the front wheel is as tall as the woman (or girl) seated beside it, if she were standing.
