Palmgren mill adapter
« on: May 02, 2009, 06:12:19 PM »
Guys,
I complained a while ago about milling on the lathe. Since I made and installed the steel gibs for my Atlas lathe, I can't believe the differece it made. I have to thank Bogs for the advice!
I can control what I am doing if I use a little patience now. I made a T nut to hold the SB TP grinder and it worked great until I pushed it beyond its limit. With a litttle more experimentation and practice I 'll be able to make things accurately with it.
I am thinking of trying this on the lathe-http://www.statecollegecentral.com/metallathe/A-11.html
I will have to check the dimensions to see if it will fit in the milling adapter.
OOPs just read this-A milling machine is required for machining the cross slide. Oh well, back to using a mll. :bang:
Thanks to all.
Regards,
Fred

It is times like this you have to be very inventive and resourceful, or have good friends.

Bogs,
I will try both of those methods, and perhaps a little bit of bribery! :D Maybe this too :(
