Hey Stew I'm here I too done post comments as often as I should.
I suspect I'm not the only one my current little build and I mean little compared to this has gone from start to finish with very few comments. So at least I hope someone got something out of my posts.

Anyway your build has been awesome so don't stop keeping us updated. You have totally amazed me. I would love to be able too do a build like this but I would not know where to start!!

Doc, Stew,

I too am guilty of not posting many comments - it doesn't mean to say I'm not interested or appreciative of your posts - I really enjoy them. Doc - you amaze me with your productivity - goodness knows how many projects you'll complete when you're retired. If I thought I could offer any constructive comments I would but you obviously know what you're doing and I can't add anything.

My thanks go out to all the MadModders who contribute.

Cheers.

Phil.

I've worked out why the image is so large

These are a better size

Just to give you some idea of the work involved in making the valve linkage.

This is the radius link

Square up a length of mild steel, and drill the holes and corner position and then chew out the material not wanted

And these are the finished links you can see where they go on the full size picture

I've just achieved a significant milestone with this build in that I've just got it running on air

  :D

Its runs a little lumpy because I only roughly centred the valves by eye and I had left some of the brackets lose so things should get better . I've still got to make the radius link to complete all the motion works but I'm very pleased that I've reached this important milestone.

Well done, its great to see movement after a long time of metal bashing.

It was very satisfying to see my Rob Roy 0-6-0 chassis running on air in 1990. Unfortunately its still packed away from when I moved to Ireland in '91

One day!!

At least I have a access to as few hectares of rugby club for the track!!

It's alive!

Well done, Stew.....

Still drilling holes... Sometimes, in the right place!

Still modifying bits of metal... Occasionally, making an improvement!
