Hey Guys
« on: February 25, 2016, 08:50:14 AM »
New guy from SNOWY Mid-Michigan! Just got over a foot of snow in 12 hours so I'll be digging us out later today.
Been working the forums for many years and just discovered this site through HomeMadeTools. I have a bunch of stuff listed there and am also on a few hotrod sites.
I have a fairly complete machine and fab shop and have built everything from full size cars and trucks to model cars , Queen size beds and living room furniture.
Glad to be here and hope to learn and help as best as I can.
Mark

Hi Mark Welcome

You may want to re-visit your 'personal text' in your profile, as it is too long and overwrites the content of your post !

I don't have any text in my 'personal text' box. It's empty...

There WAS a url pointing to your "homemadetools" link, that I see is now in your signature - it was overlaying the text of your post

Hi And welcome Astro,

You had me confused till I looked at the bottom of your post and saw that the link was HomeMadeTools.net not "HomeMadeTools.com" which does in fact exist.
Easy enough to do, those pesky, .com, .net, .gov, .org etc = More gremlins

I simply copied and pasted the link into my signature. No typing, no rocket science. Click it and it takes you right to my page...  :D

Been working the forums for many years and just discovered this site through HomeMadeTools.com. I have a bunch of stuff listed there and am also on a few hotrod sites.

Ah, But I copied and pasted the bit I made bold and underlined in the quote above into my browser which automatically adds the www bit.
As in www.HomeMadeTools.com. Not to worry, By clicking on the link in your signature line I got where you intended.
Mystery solved.

ps, Just went to your .net page again. Like your paint booth, good re-purposing of the old range hood.

Okay, I see the problem now. There is no edit button, otherwise I would delete the ".com"... Sorry about that, my bad.

Tell me exactly what you want deleting, either by PM or normal reply and I'll modify it for you, but I don't want to just wade in without your say so

Thanks Andrew! Look at my previous post. What I want deleted from my INITIAL post is what I highlighted in red. Just remove the ".com" and we'll be good.

Hi Astro, Probably due to my last 5 years in the workforce (quality Assurance / Document control) I always preview before actually posting, it's amazing what silly typos you see doing that. Then, IF you post and read again there is thankfully an edit tag so you can fix it yet again. Don't think it is there the next day though.
Not to worry, the moderators are, like seemingly all on this forum a helpful lot as you just experienced.
Keep modding and messing with cars,

John B
