First completed steam set
« on: June 27, 2016, 11:13:43 AM »
My kids decided to buy me a steam engine for one of my birthdays.....About 4 years ago..
I finally got round to finishing it today....Last job, rivet the boiler bands on....

Here it is all finished, needs a good polish now...

And.....dont mock, I know its a classroom model, but they didnt know what they were buying me....

Now, out with your favourite metal polish and apply some bling.

Well - if instead of "A Steam Set" you titled you video "A Steamy Set" I can imagine they'd pass it round them all for a look first!

To be honest, I was quite thrilled at seeing it run for the first time.....

The kit itself was quite easy to out together, although the brass sheetwork presented a challenge to my 'tin bashing skills' but it does adequately demonstrate the principles of thermodynamics very well for education purposes..
