Here's to next year
« on: December 31, 2016, 02:41:11 PM »
I'd like to wish all my MadModder friends a very Happy New Year.

The last year has been a blast for me - seeing serious Wonga being spent on my Myford and my Sieg Mill!

Regrets?

No Way!!

Here's to 2017 guys! :mmr:

Happy New Year, one and all! May your toolboxes be overflowing, and your project list ever shortening - but never to the point of having no projects left, of course!

 :mmr:
Cheers!

Hello OZ.
I'm afraid, any regular workshop activity, has ground to a stop for the winter.
Old, arthritic bones, don't like the conditions out there......

Though..... There has been some negative progress, with big Boris. Must get around to posting an update......

Great to hear, you're building a 'likker! Hope to see it running, soon.

Lidl have an oil filled radiator cheap currently.

Keeps the workshop at about 12C, warm enough but not too warm. :med:

Happy New Year one and all.

Ian

Thanks for caring, Ian!

I have sufficient heaters. The problem lies with old bones, worn joints, and arthtitis.

Even in summer time, I can only manage a one hour shift. Mebbe, three times in a day, if I'm lucky....  :(

Neoprene elbow and knee supports are great- keep the muscles warm , joints warm ( and pain free) and cushion them if you fall ! Wash em in warm water but NOT DETERGENT - (skin reactions afterwards) cos they get sweaty but works a treat. :ddb: :ddb:

Rosehip syrup is reputedly good for arthritis ( if not it's bloody great on rice pudding!).

Andrew

Are you sure you don't mean implant???

What a great idea Andrew! Oh, to be 50, again.......

I have used them, over the years, Ian. Though, never drop tested...... Must check out rosehip syrup........

My main problem, is my feet. They don't want to hold me up, anymore.

Twelve years ago. Both big toes were modded, to free off the main joints. So I could walk easier.......

The "guarantee", was 5yrs. If you're lucky......

I'm on borrowed time!

Also, the "blister pack" padding, on the soles of my feet, is worn out. I'm walking on my bones......
Padded shoe inserts, only help a little.

An old crock!

It might hurt less if you pulled that ruddy great nail out of your feet!  :bugeye:

Only kidding... and you have my sympathy for what it's worth. As I fast approach my mid 40s, I'm beginning to find bits of me that squeak/creak/crunch or grind which never used to, and I'm fairly sure shouldn't ever be doing...
Cheers!

David,

There are some Gel Sole inserts that mould more to your feet as they get warm, which maybe of benefit? Sorry to see the damage X Rays.

Only rule as you "mature" is if anything drops off -  hang on to it as they maybe able to re attach it ! Sadly extensions for most bits are not available    ( at least on the NHS not sure about privately  ( no pun intended) :ddb: :ddb:)
