I have not been on the forum for a while due to busy life type crap but when I looked at the Homeworkshop web site for the first time in weeks saw the posting about Johns passing. Very sad news , another old 'hands on' pro gone,  R.I.P John
I was glad to hear the Homeworkshop website will continue as it seems the best tribute to me.
Condolences to John's family and friends.
  Mick

Very sad news indeed
I met John at Harrogate  a few years ago
He was sharpening milling cutters for charity
I was most surprised when he recognized me from youtube
Without doubt, John was a true character that will be widely missed
My condolences to his family and many friends
John

This afternoon and early evening I have been to a ‘wake’ organised by Johns wife Debby in Long Eaton to celebrate his life . A good turn out and many familiar names who previously I have only known via the internet. Lots of similar stories of very helpful contact with John and tales of his exploits repairing.

In all a very good and worthwhile ‘do’

It's so nice to hear that people have got together to remember John who spent a considerable part of his life helping others through assistance, advice and accounts of his problem-solving experiences. A nice way of being remembered IMO.
