Quick Change Toolpost Build
« on: August 07, 2017, 09:13:54 PM »
I completed my quick change tool post based on Metal Lathe Accessories' MLA-23 toolpost last week. It was scaled down for the 8" swing on the Schaublin 102. The original design might have been a bit large being designed for 9"-12" lathes, although it may have worked. I made a number of other changes as well.

Bits and pieces:

Here is the build video of it (you may want to watch it in Youtube as it will give a bigger picture):

Now onto the next build.   :proj:

Thanks for posting,
Well worth a look and just maybe I will make one with a further mod to suit my 7X. At the moment I am using one that is the aluminium, piston type and ok for light cuts. I see this design should hold the tool holder more securely plus it brings the tool back inside the top slide base rather than the usual overhang.
Thanks again.
