DDCSV Limits and Homing
« on: February 12, 2018, 07:06:26 PM »
So have put the probe investigation on hold while I get round to fitting limit switches.

So fitted +X and -X and Z+ limit micro-switches and all work as expected

Then try to use one of them as a home switch: Not so good. Command "Home X" (having set up the params accordingly) and off it goes at 100 mm/min towards the X- switch. Switch triggers and then NOWT. Machine just stops there! It should retract and home again.

Same behavior if I try X+ and Z+

Anyone managed to get Homing working??

Is there a home.nc script like there is probe.nc ?

We have homing working. IIRC we jumpered home and limit switches electrically, then realised that this wasn't necessary. You can set home speed and direction in the properties page, as well as some things like how quick to come off the home switch.

Scoring bonus points, we have slaved vertical drives (hot wire cutting machine) and got independent homing working. :nrocks:

Thanks PK. Yes I have just realised and tested that you connect the Home wire to the Limit wire of the limit switch and set the parameter #51 to NO (Use Hard Limits for Homing). Now all works as it should.

So that's working back to the Probe function

Cheers
