Tool Auction
« on: September 14, 2018, 09:35:31 AM »
I have given up on boot fairs a local Auction house has tool sales every 3 months , I got this little box for a song as it was nearly the last item and most people had gone , I will be putting the hardness tester on eBay £50 start unless anybody on hear wants it for the start price + p&p . in the hope of covering the price of the rest .

If the thread repair stuff holds no interest for you I might buy those if they are metric. I have some, but need some others.

I've also given up on car boot sales but i've not replaced them with anything. I sorta wonder if something happened to make them so dire this year.

Even the tool stores no longer stock engineering tools in my area I asked , but there was a lot of junk at the auction .

I have done quite well from the last two auctions , a Boxford fixed steady and a cross and compound slide mounted on quarter plate , that I have identified as a Boley 4L for £40 that was listed as two vices . Two ball Jacobs bearing 1/2" super chucks and a rotating centre for £12 .
A set of expanding reamers 1/2" to 1" .
Two mist coolant sprays £4 .
A box of leadscrews and lathe spares
3 metric leadscrews for Boley 4L with nuts unused still partialy coved with wax ,

1 Boxford cross slide leadscrew with nut ,
1 Raglan Little John leadscrew with a very loose nut ,
1 unidentyfied leadscrew ,
4 dials 1 Boford 2Myford ML7 1 unknown ,
Boxford handwheel pinion  tailstock spindle and thead cutting stop ,
and some drill arbors sleeves and centres , listed as air fittings £6 ,
20 litres of Shell soluble cutting oil £10,
there is alo a shaft with a sleeve the I dont know what it's from
Sold the fixed steady one fo the chucks and theBoxford thead cutting stop , making a small profit so the rest was free .
