I don't know if any of you guys are following the Federation Cup Soccer tornament in South Africa

The USA are beating Brazil 2 - 0 at half time, so switch on your boxes and and give them some support, its a classic  match.

Sadly I can't share your enthusiasm Stew.....it's just never rocked my boat....

But glad you enjoyed the game all the same.....

Yep only ex pat's from the common market or now I guess The EU countries care. Nobody in the US will turn it on. Didn't that guy Beckman or something that was brought over here to fire up Soccer. Went back over to the EU to play after spending a week here.
NO matter what they try to do. I think that it is only interesting to kids till they are about 16 and get a drivers license. And that's all the kids that can't get to play on a Baseball league team.

Now I'm not a stick and ball sports person of any type. Cricket is interesting and I have watched the ex pat's in Hong Kong play at the pitch there on a number of occasions, in the 70's. I like curling when it's on the Canadian TV station we get here.

The women's team has been #1 in the world for quite a while.  Now that there are NCAA tournaments and scholarships available I think you'll see more quality men coming up too.
