5c collet chuck going begging
« on: August 20, 2009, 07:00:18 AM »
I have just bought a new 5c collet chuck.

My old one is looking for a new home.

The reason it was replaced is that I wasn't happy with the fit of the chuck key holes, so if you don't mind a bit of a ratchety tightening and undoing then it could be for you. It has been set up and ground out in the nose to give a 0-0 runout.

Now the catch.

It is a straight on D1-4 mount, and it cannot be modified to fit any other mount or backplate, because of the way the chuck is built and machined, and you will have to supply your own collets and PICK IT UP from me.

I WILL NOT POST TO ANYWHERE. No pick up, no chuck.

If no takers soon, it will be recycled into something else.

Remachine it to a D1-3, swap the node to ER32 and because you said you wouldn't post it, deliver it and I'll have it.

John,

deliver it and I'll have it

As you know, if I could, for you, I would.

If you really want it, I will get one of the lads to bring it over to the next engineering show. I'm sure they wouldn't mind.

Thoughts to myself.

I wonder if it will stick back together with superglue and he wouldn't notice.

Thanks John but just winding you up,  :poke: I don't have anything on D1-4, the CVA is on D1-3 and all the rest is on DiN A series bolt on's of various sizes.
The small TOS, my daily metric drive has 8 different chucks so I'm not really looking for anything anyway.
