Hello from LALAland
« on: September 06, 2009, 04:43:27 PM »
Hello to all.  I see a lot of familiar names here.

For those of you who don't know me, I'm a retired physicist living in Los Angeles.  I'm most active on the HMEM board but, after lurking a bit here, decided I need to broaden my horizons and join your fine group.

My main interest is small steam/air/Stirling engines but I've never seen a shop built tool or gadget I didn't like.  The shop, fondly known as Garaj Mahal, is a two car garage that still houses two cars so, by force of circumstance, I stick mainly with smaller scale projects.

Some of you may already be familiar with my web page (see sig for URL) where I offer a number of free programs that I hope will be useful to homeshop metalworkers.  You're all invited to stop by and download whatever you find helpful.

You've got an excellent group here.  I'm looking forward to being a participating member.

Regards, Marv

Hi Marv,

A very big welcome.

I am sure your input will be much appreciated on a few of the more diverse bits and projects a lot of these lads get up to.

Thanks to all for the warm welcome.

I especially like the fact that this forum is more generalized in its focus (now there's an awkward English construction) than is HMEM.  I won't feel so guilty posting off-the-wall stuff.

John, you old sod, how on earth did they let you in here?  Don't worry about me soiling the carpet, though.  Just remember:  If you find a posting or message from me offensive, inappropriate, or disruptive, please ignore it. If you don't know how to ignore a posting, complain to me and I will be only too happy to demonstrate...

The whole reason this place came into existence was for the off the wall stuff!
