Tooling Plate and Clamp Kit

I made a tooling plate and clamp kit for my CNC mill and wanted to show them off.  If I remember right there are 72 holes in the plate spaced 1/2" apart from each other.

The material for the clamps is aluminum and the bolts are 1/4" X 28.  I went with a fine thread hoping for a stronger thread, but it made it harder to find the bolts for the clamps so if I did it again I would go with a standard thread.

Looks just dandy and should work a treat. I also like the storage system for all the clamping parts when not in use.  :ddb: :ddb:

Being fine thread might mean you won't be as quick to steal the odd bolt or 2 for something else. :lol: :lol:

The mill is an old D&M machine that I had to retrofit to work with Mach 3 software.  It's a nice little machine, but I still have to learn how to program it.  I have really only done some engraving with it and hope to do more projects in the near future. 

I'm taking night classes for metal working and was able to use the schools machines to tap all of the holes on the tooling plate instead of doing them by hand.  I also ran the piece under a large face mill on both sides to make sure it was flat before bolting it to my little mill.  It was nice being able to program my mill to drill all of the holes for me!
